Croatian Transmission System Operator's mission is electric power system’s operation and maintenance, electricity transmission, as well as construction and development of electricity transmission network in order to maintain security of supply with minimal costs and environmental protection.


Pursuant to the Decision of the Commercial Court in Zagreb no. Tt-22/17075-2 from 11th April 2022, the conversion of the Croatian Transmission System Operator as limited liability company into a joint stock company was entered in the court register. The company operates and participates in legal transactions under the company /name Croatian Transmission System operator Plc. (abbreviated HOPS d.d.).

       

HOPS d.d. is the sole electricity transmission system operator in the Republic of Croatia, and the owner of the entire Croatian transmission network (400 kV, 220kV and 110kV included voltage levels), and has a license to carry out the energy activity of electricity transmission as a regulated public service.


The business activity of HOPS d.d. is regulated by the Energy Act (Official Gazette 120/2012, 14/2014, 95/2015, 102/2015, 68/18), the Electricity Market Act (Official Gazette 111/21), and other national and international regulations.


The company performs its functions transparently and independently in accordance with the Croatian Companies Act.


HOPS operates as an independent transmission system operator, which implies functional independence from the parent company, Hrvatska elektroprivreda d.d., and its affiliated companies, and non-discriminatory behavior towards all transmission system users.
